Tata Renewable And Suzlon To Collaborate On Wind Energy Projects

Tata Power’s renewable energy subsidiary Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has signed a contract with Suzlon Group that will see the latter supply the former wind turbine generators with 838 MW of combined capacity.

According to the contract, Suzlon will deliver comprehensive end-to-end solutions to TPREL’s projects across Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. Suzlon’s wind turbines will support TPREL’s across these states and are scheduled for completion over the next few years.

A statement by Suzlon Group said this order, the third collaboration between TPREL and the company, is its second largest to date, and the biggest order of FY2026. It will deploy 226 of Suzlon’s s144 wind turbines of 3.15 MW capacity each. In Karnataka, Suzlon’s wind turbines will help generate 302 MW of energy, in Maharashtra they will generate 271 MW of energy, and in Tamil Nadu they will generate 265 MW of energy.

TPREL has a target of reaching 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. It currently has a wind energy portfolio exceeding 3.9 GW of power.
