Drone Startup Dream Innovations Selected In ‘100 Desi Deeptechs’
Bangalore-based battery start-up Dreamfly Innovations announced that it has been selected in India’s ‘100 Desi Deeptechs’ cohort by Startup Policy Forum in collaboration with MeitY Startup Hub, Startup India and Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M).
The cohort aims to identify 100 start-ups in sectors as diverse as advanced manufacturing, biotech and healthcare, clean tech and energy, defence tech, drones and aerospace, electric vehicles, quantum tech, robotics, semiconductors, and space tech. Dreamfly Innovations, was chosen in the drones and aerospace sector along with 8 other start-ups tackling issues such a perpetual flight, drone delivery, and autonomous amphibious aircraft that can take off and land on land and water. Dreamfly Innovations is focussed on building batteries for the aviation sector, from drones to e-avaiation to aerospace. They design and manufacture Lithium and Graphene batteries. The company claims its batteries are lighter, can increase flight time while mitigating the risk of fires and overheating. The company’s innovations include advanced thermal cases for heat management, lightweight battery architectures, and next-generation energy systems designed to enable longer and safer drone operations.
The Startup India Forum Initiative was started with the purpose of bringing deeptech founders and policymakers together and ideate on steps to build, scale and strengthen the deeptech ecosystem in India. Its advisory board consisting of investors, founders, policymakers and academics chose 100 Indian startups. The selected cohort will be giving their inputs for a policy report being prepared by the forum. The forum also is tasked with promoting the startups on a global stage.
