L&T To Set Up Eight Thermal Power Units For Adani Power
Engineering and construction major Larsen and Tubro (L&T) announced on 11 August 2025 that it has won an ultra-mega contract to set up eight state-of-the-art thermal power units for Adani Power Ltd. The eights power units will have a total of 64,000 MW of power generation capacity, with each generating 800 MW of power each. The project is valued at ₹15,000 crore.
L&T’s specialized business vertical for advanced power and low-carbon technologies L&T Energy – CarbonLite Solutions (LTECLS) will execute the order.
L&T said in a statement that the scope of the order encompasses the complete design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, and commissioning of Boiler-Turbine-Generator (BTG) packages, along with auxiliaries and associated mechanical, electrical and control & instrumentation (C&I) systems.
Commenting on the contract, Mr. Subramanian Sarma, Deputy Managing Director & President, L&T, added: “In today’s dynamic energy landscape, where India’s demand for reliable and affordable power continues to grow, this order from the Adani Group reinforces our role as a leading partner in building the country’s critical energy infrastructure”.
