12th Tranche Of Coal Mines Auction Held In New Delhi

The Ministry of Coal held the 12th round of Commercial Coal Mines Auctions and Agreement Signing Ceremony was held in New Delhi on March 27. Present during the inauguration ceremony were Minister of Coal and Mines Mr G Kishan Reddy and Union Minister of state for Coal and Mines Mr Satish Chandra Dubey.
Minister for Coal and Mines Mr Reddy felicitated subsidiaries of Coal India Limited (CIL) for surpassing 1 BT in coal production by presenting them with Certificates of Appreciation.
Additional Secretary in Ministry of Coal, Ms Rupinder Brar, in her welcome address highlighted the success of previous auctions in attracting private investment, improving efficiency, and strengthening India’s self sufficiency.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Vikram Dev Dutt, Secretary with Ministry of Coal, said that coal mining had transformed in the last four years and become more efficient and capable of meeting surging energy demand, thus ensuring equitable supply to industry.
Both Mr Dutt and Ms Kaur too lauded the milestone of 1 BT in coal production.
