TREL And Tata Motors Join Hands To Develop Wind-Solar Hybrid Plant
Tata Group companies Tata Renewable Energy Limited (TREL) and Tata Motors have signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to co-develop a 133 MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project. The partnership will provide a reliable supply of green, cost-effective energy to six Tata Motors’ manufacturing facilities in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
This co-investment between the companies will generate 330 million units of green energy, while offsetting as much as 2 lakh tons of CO2 emissions each year. The PPA will also generate clean energy exclusive for Tata Motors.
Currently, TREL operates nearly 478MW of renewable energy capacity. In addition, nearly 1.1 GW of capacity are at various stages of implementation and will be completed in next 6-24 months.
With this order, TREL’s total group captive capacity will be over 1.5 GW.
